Let's just say it. Co-sleeping is not illegal, it is not something you have to whisper about at your pediatrician's office, and it is definitely not something that only happens to parents who "didn't try hard enough" to get their baby in a crib. HeHe is coming in hot on this one because she lived it, and she is done letting this topic live in secrecy and shame.
HeHe gets real about her own pivot to bed sharing around 13 weeks postpartum, not because she had it all planned out on a vision board, but because her family was exhausted and it worked. She talks through how it changed the game for actual sleep quality, how breastfeeding fit into the picture, and why so many parents end up here even when it was nowhere in the plan.
But this is not a "just wing it" episode. HeHe walks through the real safe sleep guidelines that matter if you are going to bed share: a firm sleep surface (couches and recliners are an automatic no), zero substances, baby always on their back, the actual crescent position, never sandwiching baby between two adults, keeping baby lightly dressed, and ditching the swaddle the second baby is in your bed. She also gets into the nuance around premature or medically complex babies, and why breastfeeding may act as a protective factor, because context matters here and HeHe is not about one-size-fits-all fear tactics.
And because plenty of families bed share for a season and then want out, HeHe covers exactly how to transition, from crib sleep to floor beds to the "start the night in the crib, then bring baby into bed later" method that made the whole shift so much less painful for her own family.
HeHe also has a new sleep guide dropping that pulls all of this together in one place, so if you want the cheat sheet version of everything in this episode, grab it here: [insert sleep guide link]
